A hustler struggles to save his family during "the forgotten holocaust" of Romania, adapted from the biography of Ohio emigrant Siegfried Jagendorf.
Romania was Nazi Germany's greatest ally in WWII, after Italy - and it was the site of some of the most brutal and barbaric atrocities committed against the Jews. Jagendorf and his wife are forced across the Dniester river into Ukraine, where they are left for dead by fascist Romanian forces. There, Jagendorf - a fast-talking hustler - convinces an ambitious local politician to let him restore a manufacturing foundry to help rebuild a war-torn town.
